My Two Grandfathers

One died a few years ago at 85. The other is 93 and still going strong. One way to describe both men is content.

(I will talk in the present tense as the soul never dies).

They are at ease, they know themselves, they feel they have lived good, productive lives for their families.

One starts his day with yoga and mantra chanting. The other likes nothing more than a stiff Johnny Walker at 6pm.

Different men and yet similar lives, similar experiences, and very similar values.

The thing that holds it together is perhaps the essence of me: to be true to oneself and to do the right thing.

It doesn’t matter which path I take at all.
